Taking the MCAT while taking courses in School

Hello,
I was hoping someone could share some thoughts on taking the MCAT while in school.

I will be preparing over summer, but may need to take it two weeks into my school semester.
Im concerned that all the steam I will have built, will be diluted due to having to start taking courses for two weeks that potentially will detour my attention from the MCAT.

Any experiences shared would be appreciated.
